Lightfast test 'before' scans. Start date: May 20, 2020.

end of lightfast test: October 20, 2020 (a duration of 5 months) Conditions: tropical country, placed at a south-facing window 24/7. Daylight from around 6am-6pm. Strong sunlight on swatches approximately 6-8+ hours a day.

Rembrandt

Sennelier

Cotman

Van Gogh

Sonnet

Silpakorn

Camel Camlin

updates can be found below the scanned swatches.

end of lightfast test: October 20, 2020 (a duration of 5 months)

The following images are the ones scanned prior to putting the right side in the sun. Continue scrolling past the text updates for the final scans.

[2 month update - July 18, 2020] - no changes, except for Silpakorn dioxazine purple with slight fading.

[3 month update - August 20, 2020] - assume no changes unless commented on. Silpakorn dioxazine purple continues to fade. Sonnet is holding up quite well to my surprise with the exception of a few. Sonnet's Madder Lake Red and Violet Light have clearly faded between the 2nd month update and 3rd month update.

[5 month update and end of experiment - October 20, 2020] - (intended to do 6 months but ended early because there will be a lot of rainfall and cloudy skies later so i don't see a use in waiting another month.)

below you will find the scans: left side was kept in a drawer away from sunlight, right side was left exposed to sunlight for 5 months.

no dots = no apparent changes or fading, consider colour as lightfast orange dot = some fading

red dot = fading is very apparent, consider colour as fugitive

Rembrandt, Sennelier, Cotman, and VanGogh all were safe from fading. Sonnet, Camel Camlin, and Silpakorn had a few select colours that faded. Please stay tuned for the results of my other lightfast tests.
